Trading Cards

When I wrapped up my daily short story writing project of ten years, I celebrated by giving myself a new project: trading cards for some of the most notable stories.

The illustrations were stock photos that I composited, stylized, and recolored. The layouts were modeled after the 90s X-Men trading cards. (If you can think of a more iconic look, save it for your custom trading card project.)

These were a present for my wife (originally for a Valentine’s Day, but creating “expansions” is the gift I keep on giving). Seeing an Etsy seller who offered specialized Guess Who games, I said: “I could make that.”
